Oil Changes
We ask that you change the oil every 3000 miles.  When you picked up the vehicle it had a sticker on the upper driver's side corner of the windshield with the next change mileage on it. Don't pay for upgraded oil or filters, just the basics will be fine
(they're a waste of money when changing the oil every 3000 miles).
Windshields
There are two types of rock damage to a windshield - cracks and bullseyes:
Cracks
We ask that you have the windshield replaced if any cracks over 4 inches occur.
Bullseyes
We can easily repair Bullseyes for about a dollar in supplies, so leave these for us to repair.
Any Other Repairs
We do everything we can to ensure that you will not need to have any repairs done to the vehicle.  However, breakdowns do occur from time to time, just as they would if you were driving your own vehicle.
We will be glad to consult via email on any repair issues you may have.  We know everything that's been done to the vehicle and should be able to help you from having any unnecessary repairs performed.
Transmission Fluid and Filter Changes
We perform all needed transmission fluid and filter changes on a very rigorous schedule.  You do NOT need to have any done, even if recommended by a shop.
"Worn" Brakes and Belts
Many of our missionaries have experienced shops recommending significant brake or belt work based upon the comment that they are "worn".  Both of these components become "worn" within minutes of being installed as that is how they work.  We replace belts on a routine basis when the vehicles are in our shop between leases. Likewise we replace the brakes when there is less than half the life left.  So, unless you are experienceing some performance issues with the brakes don't let a shop talk you into spending $300 - $400 on a brake job we can do for about $20 upon your return.
